Guisborough entertained Harlepool BBOB today on a fabulous autumnal day, which on paper should have been their most difficult contest todate as BBOB lying in third in the table. Guisborough set off at such a pace that for the first twenty minutes BBOB were not even in the game. From a training ground penalty move Andy Hucker touched down in the corner, Paul Devenport (captain) was last to rise over the line from a rolling maul, Mathew Flint and Paul Towers both scored from further penalty moves. BBOB had not read the script and came back at Guisborough and when Guis knocked on from the re-start, BBOB had their best spell of the day and when a 5 metre line-out was slapped back, BBOB back row pounced onto the ball for their first and only try of the day. HT 24-5.

 

Guisborough tried to play open rugby today and go through some training ground moves with some positive and negitive results.  Owen Edwards playing in the centre made his own try through a trademark powerfull break, he was unstoppable to touch down under the posts, The back row played well today  and after some good interplay the ball was given to Lee Richardson to score and when the ball toppled over on the conversion, he cooly dropped goaled for the extra's. Owen again made good ground and fellow centre James clarke was on hand to touch down. Mike McDougall got on the score sheet again after Owen had made good ground., Joe Bossomworth from full back, had squandered a couple of chances today but when the ball was shipped quickly across the park, the defence was unable to get anywere near him and on the final whistle James Clarke unselfishly gave Paul Towers his second try of the day.  Final score 58-5.
