Alan Buckton
Alan our Al as he likes to be known retired in the middle of the 2005 -2006 season for medical reasons. (Nothing Serious) ish
Alan was a flyer in his time playing normally at full back or wing.
On occasion he stood in at centre or fly half.
Alan will be remembered for his try saving tackles and safe hands under the high ball.
Alan can still be seen on Saturday’s watching Guisborough and in the Town on a night.
Favourite moment:
Paul Towers remembers watching AL in full flight with half of Houghton chasing him, all of a sudden Al starts hopping about 5 meters out from the try line. He managed to score with half of Houghton on his back. I shouted what was that about. The reply came "I have snapped my F***ing Hamstring".
